I don't think RM would get cancelled even with ratings problems or anything soon. The show has many strong fans and the PDs know their feedback and responsibility to let that happen.
I believe the ratings won't matter much if it is appreciated and looked positively upon by the majority of people. Family Outing in its most duration always had high ratings RM rarely had, although it is considered as a failure at Korea now. It depends on how the staff is able to keep up the good work, and I think RM staff does that. But what I think is that the staff is not using their full potentials, and this racing format I have been complaining about for several times proves that. This lasted for nearly 2 years and the PDs have to create many mini-games to fill up the spot. I believe it's either or both running out of ideas or getting lazy for the staff to recycle the same mini-games over and over, and it got more frequent nowadays.
I know Cho PD said about there are still more to be advantage of that racing format. However, the PD of Xman thought about the same with lovelines at his show and that's why many people were turned off with it. That was the only part I didn't like from his interview and think they have to change like they did in the past to keep going. I still believe RM staff has a lot of skills to amaze people, just like how they did Reincarnation special few months earlier. I don't want something like that frequent because I understand there must be many preparations. But I wish they would use their potentials more and change like how IC is still loved with their risky but brave trials.

I don't think Barefooted Friends is related for all this slump. I remember 1N2D fans blaming Qualification of Men but actually these two shows weren't related that much for the ratings. I think it's rather the rebirth of Sunday Night (Dad where are you going/Real Men).
