It's a sad sad day but megaupload (megavideo) is dead. American Govt took it down.

It was the fastest way to get 720p for me....now it will just take longer :(

That sucks. While my main use for it was for acquiring fansubbed videos, I was also using it for legitimate purposes, sending large files to clients in my line of work in a quick and hassle-free manner.

This really sucks. I always download Running Man using megaupload since it is better and faster.. But now the government took it down before those bills were passed.. Sigh. And If the internet is going to be censored then I don't think anyone will bother to go on anymore. Might as well just rot in front of the tv or attempt to socialize with other people which would be hard for me since I am a full time student and just like to be myself & do my own thing whether it is watching anime or korean drama/variety shows. >_<

Both bills (SOPA and PIPA) don't have much of a chance of passing, especially with the President being outright against it (and in all likelihood on his way to a landslide reelection). So I don't believe there is a whole lot to worry about these bills passing in their current form. It is likely they will be rewritten to be something that isn't so poorly written and draconian in it's implications. I wouldn't be surprised if in the coming years that a bill that is anti-piracy does make it through the law making process in the United States, but then comes the issue of how to enforce those laws globally.

It really sucks about Megaupload, but the people running the site supposedly were laundering and racketeering charges, so they screwed up so royally with what they had, that if they are found guilty of the charges, have nobody to blame but themselves. Let's just hope for the the time being that the individuals who are running Mediafire aren't trying to pull a similar act on their side, or we will be S.O.L. with our choices of getting our Running Man and Family Outing fixes in the future.

yeah. megaupload went down because the company was making hella bank and the files that were being shared were obviously illegal. SOPA and PIPA aren't going to pass. The thing with megaupload came way before that. And there was already a law in place for what megaupload was doing. rip tho. :[ all my fav communities on livejournal are shutting down.

Dayum. This site always gives me the best speed. Hopefully it'll be back up soon.

It is a sad day indeed, but there are other servers too. And hey, iSUBS doesn't have to pay Megaupload to host the files anymore. More money saved to search for other servers :D Obama has said he is against the current SOPA and PIPA bills, but I think he wouldn't appose it if they were re-written in a manner that pleases him. So who knows, if Hollywood promises him to make a movie of him to make him look like an epic hero rather than the total dummy that he is, he may change his tune about SOPA and PIPA. Here's to hoping that Running Man is till subbed. By the way, has iSUBS thought about torrents? I'm just throwing that out there. Torrents seem fine to me :D
