there's a rumour of her resigning due to busy schedule+health issues as a result.
Hope it stays a rumour

It was just announced that she gets a job in the new movie “Jackal Comes”-
This is the moment the actors leave the show. Chunhee and Yejin left FO for their acting career. JoonKi left RM for acting career. I guess all permanent members who are actors leave when they get a chance to take another big step in their acting career. Well, they are actors first so I understand her decision. It seems actors are usually the ones who will leave the cast. Comedians/Entertainers leave when they get into a big scandal (examples: Kang Ho Dong / Mc Mong / Shin Jung Hwan)

However it has been a year and she's got most of what she can out of the show, she's shown most of her charm and Monday couple is over.

i already heard that jihyo will join the "Jackal Comes" but it just a movie isn't it?
if it's really a movie, it will not take time to long as drama
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The amount of endorsements that Ji Hyo has gotten, and the rise of popularity has had a lot more to do with her developed variety persona than it has with her role on Detectives in Trouble/Crime Squad or Gye Baek (albeit the medical scare tied with Gye Baek did give her a lot of spots in headlines with her health scare and they do say, "No publicity, is bad publicity."). I just don't exactly see how she would have more opportunities by leaving Running Man, instead of focusing on the show itself as her primary source of revenue unless the movie is some overwhelming international success. Then again, she is dating the CEO of her company so I really don't know how much stability plays into the current picture with her, both professionally expressive and financial.
Just out of curiosity, where are these rumors coming from? Other than the whispers of netizens and speculation because of accepted movie role.
Hopefully, this is all just a bunch of hodge podge, and will die with the rumors that came and gone before it. If by the off chance there is some possibility that she does leave - I think that might actually be the first nail in the coffin for Running Man, because in my opinion - Song Ji Hyo is one of the few people that the show cant't lose, without losing more than it could ever get back in terms of her role, chemistry, and popularity by any other person out there.

What still confounds me about the Korean entertainment industry is the absence of a concept of a temporary break. Like WGM, for example, which was a victim of the MBC labor disputes, getting apparently permanently cancelled. What's wrong with taking a formal hiatus, and coming back when everything's all settled?
So likewise with Ji Hyo, I don't understand why a movie--which takes three months or so to shoot--would have to mean her permanent departure from the show. What's wrong with her and RM and whoever else needs to be involved coming to an agreement, saying, "okay, Ji Hyo's going to be gone for the next fourteen weeks, and her spot on the show will be temporarily filled with one or a series of female variety vets, but as soon as her work with 'Jackal' is done, we'll have a big Welcome Back Ji Hyo episode." It just baffles me that aside from guys going to military service and returning to their long-running shows (e.g. HaHa in IC), this seems to be an unfamiliar concept to Korean TV.
