I remembered reading that the girls (Luna, Jiyeon, Sulli, Suzy) were planned to have a 2-part special, which is episode 55 and 56. Why were the girls switched in the end and they had to rush 4 other guests to replace them and crapping out that 'flower tea' story?

It is just a storyline play that the flower tea changed them into someone else. A bit like secret garden when the body were changed into someone else.

I thought that they were supposed to stay for the night and have a 2-ep special? ? I felt that the flower tea concept was not done on purpose and instead, it was actually a rushed replacement since the girls had schedule or something else.

Or maybe that was the plan all along, the idols would film for one episode and be replaced by the tea (similar event in Secret Garden). I don't think it would be rushed, having to arrange for a total of 8 guest to appear in two episodes isn't easily done. I don't recall any official annoucnements stating the idols would appear over two episodes, and in conjunction with promotions, so I can assume the PD's followed the original plan instead.

I'm pretty sure it was the plan all along.

Those two episodes are in my top ten of favorites....the looks on the guys' faces when they woke the girls up the next morning had me laughing pretty good...especially poor HaHa...and the water fight race that followed was great.
I was never under the impression that it was a hurried up and 'fix' the show deal to compensate for the girl idol's schedule, it looked to me like it was planned from the start....being how the staff just loves to play tricks on the cast members.
